Yes, your Outbacker travel insurance can cover you while riding a motorbike on the Ha Giang Loop, provided you meet the conditions below and comply with the terms of your policy.
You are covered under our policies, provided the following conditions are met:
You hold a full UK (or other internationally recognised licence) to drive the motorbike, moped, scooter, or assisted bicycle. You’ll also need an international driving permit (IDP, 1968) for your licence to be valid in Vietnam, which you can obtain from https://www.gov.uk/driving-abroad/get-an-idp.
The vehicle you are driving is insured.
You wear a helmet while riding.
You wear a seatbelt when travelling in a motor vehicle where one is available.
You are not taking part in races, rallies, off-road riding, or competitions.
You can also be covered while riding pillion, provided:
the person driving is legally licensed to ride that motorbike.
the motorbike has the required insurance.
you wear a helmet.
Your travel insurance does not cover:
damage to, loss of or theft of the hired motorbike;
damage you cause to another vehicle or property;
injury you cause to another person; or
Personal Liability arising from driving a motorised vehicle.
