For all policies:
You are covered for the costs of canceling your trip if, on the day you're due to depart, your flight is delayed or cancelled and no suitable alternative is provided within 24 hours of the scheduled time of departure.
You are additionally covered for the following:
1. We will pay you up to the amount shown in the Table of Benefits for your reasonable additional accommodation and public transport travel expenses so that you may continue your trip. If your trip is disrupted due to:
The public transport on which you were booked to travel being cancelled or delayed (as shown in the Table of Benefits), diverted, or redirected after takeoff.
How your airline covers you:
If your airline changes your flight or cancels it less than 14 days in advance of your trip, then for most flights to or from the UK, the following rules apply:
If these changes result in a delay of less than 4 hours, your airline will not be required to provide any compensation.
If these changes result in a delay of more than 4 hours, your airline will usually be required to provide compensation. They will also be required to offer you rerouting on an alternative flight or a full refund.
